The standards watchdog found John Bercow guilty of intimidating House of Commons personnel and barred him from carrying a pass granting him access to parliament buildings for the rest of his life.

It goes on to say that his behaviour “fell far short of what the public has a right to expect from any member of parliament,” and that if he was still a serving MP, it would have been recommended that “he be expelled by resolution of the House.”
“As things stand, we suggest that he never be granted access to the legislative estate,” the study says.

Mr Bercow called the probe into charges that he acted inappropriately toward staff during his tenure as Commons speaker “a long, incompetent, and unjust procedure” in a statement released at the same time as the panel’s findings were disclosed.
Denouncing the report as “false” “A farce of justice,” the former speaker continued, adding, “Parliament is meant to be the highest court in the land.”
