Kelly Tilghman is an American professional Golfer, writer, commentator, and announcer who was the former broadcast journalist for Golf Channel, NBC Sports, and also PGA Tour’s first female lead golf announcer. Kelly Tilghman was born on August 6, 1969, in South Carolina, the USA to Phil Tilghman and Katherine Tilghman.

Kelly Tilghman attended North Myrtle Beach High School where she played on the North Myrtle Beach High School boys’ varsity golf team as an 8th grader. She was also a member of the 1986 state Champion North Myrtle Beach High School girls’ basketball team. As a novice golfer, she was able to win the 1987 Carolinas Junior Girls Championship and 1988 Carolinas Golf Association Women’s Four-Ball Championship.
Tilghman became a professional golfer after a brief debut in Scottsdale, Arizona as the Professional Golfers Association’s Professional at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club of the USA. Tilghman competed on the Australian, Asian, and European Ladies Golf Tours from 1994 to 1996 before ending her career to focus on television. Kelly Tilghman was hired at Golf Channel in Orlando, Florida where she began her career as a videotape librarian.
Kelly Tilghman made history when she became the first full-time female play-by-play announcer in PGA TOUR history after Golf Channel secured a landmark 15-year broadcast rights deal with the PGA TOUR. Tilghman partnered with champion Nick Faldo, a 6-time major in the firm.
Kelly Tilghman proceeds to the MSNBC network in 2012 and anchored MSNBC’s daytime coverage of the Olympic Summer Games in London. She also served as a studio host in Golf Channel’s coverage of golf’s return to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Kelly Tilghman after a long and successful career as a correspondent at Golf Channel announced her retirement from the Golf Channel in 2008 at Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A. She was later named as the ambassador for the Arnold Palmer Invitation in 2019.

Tilghman, after a two and a half years cut from the broadcasting, was hired by CBS Sports to host The Clubhouse Report On CBS Sport’s Network. It was a live post-game show covering the 102nd PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California on 29 July 2020.
