Nollywood veteran Wale Ojo has announced his next directorial venture, a film titled This is Not a Nollywood Movie.

Ojo shared the news via Instagram on August 17, 2024, describing the film as a satirical comedy meant to entertain and bring joy.
He explained that despite the title, which is meant to be humorous, the film is designed to make audiences laugh and experience a deep sense of happiness.
Ojo began his career as a child actor in the UK television series Othello and gained prominence in 1995 for his role in The Hard Case.

In 2012, he won the Nigeria Entertainment Award for Best Actor for his role in Phone Swap. He is also well-known for his role in the comedy series Meet the Adebanjos, which earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2018.

Throughout his career, Ojo has appeared in numerous films, including Half of a Yellow Sun, Big Man, A Letter from Adam, When Love Happens, Ojukokoro, Lara and the Beat, and Breath of Life, the latter of which won him a Best Lead Actor award at this year’s AMVCA.
In addition to his acting career, Ojo founded the New Nigeria Cinema project to enhance the quality and global appeal of Nigerian films.
He is also an advocate for education and the arts, frequently participating in workshops and mentoring young talents. His new film will feature Hanks Anuku, Shatta Bandle, Broda Shaggi, and Boma Akpore.
