Sophia Momodu, the mother of superstar singer Davido’s first child, has reportedly filed a detailed 102-paragraph affidavit opposing his request for joint custody of their daughter, Imade.

It should be noted that just days before his traditional wedding, Davido filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody of his daughter, claiming that Sophia was preventing him from seeing their child and extorting money from him.
The singer asserted that although he was once in a relationship with Momodu, it ended years ago, and they had agreed to co-parent their child.
However, he claimed that this arrangement had not been upheld, stating that Sophia turned down his offer of a house and demanded a monthly rent of N5 million, among other things.

In response, Sophia revealed that she had a relationship with Davido from 2020 to 2022 while he was dating Chioma. She denied the allegations of preventing him from seeing their daughter, Imade, stating that Davido never tried to visit her and abandoned her because she refused to have sex with him.
Recent reports reveal that Sophia has submitted a 102-paragraph affidavit to challenge Davido’s request for joint custody. Her legal team, consisting of Dr. Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorneys and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun, filed the affidavit.
The next court hearing for the estranged couple is set for Friday, July 5, 2024.
